Home About Us Founder What We Do Where We Work Gallery Get Involved Blog Contact Us Welcome to SMARAN – an NGO for Water & Soil Conservation Rain water harvesting was in practice for many centuries/widely practiced all over the world & regarded as solution or supplement to address the increasing mismatch between available water resources and its rising demand. SMARAN helps identify, promote importance and renovation of the neglected traditional water bodies (tanks / ponds) which supports the Irrigation, Ground water, Cattle, aquatic life etc and land development to control soil erosion & increase/retain moisture in rural areas. The programs are taken up with the coordination of farmers (beneficiaries), Village Panchayath, MRO, concerned Government Departments, Member Environment & Lake protection committee if it’s in HMDA limits and finally the District Collectors concerned.
